Happy New Year! It’s time for another moodboard Monday! Today, I’m super excited about the glamorous possibilities of a black and gold palette! It’s such a modern color combination, but at the same time Great Gatsby era, art deco extravagant affair come to mind. So I went with a Gatsby inspired, black and gold with a hint of blush pink inspiration board! This theme would be fabulous for a winter (especially New Year’s Eve!) wedding.
Image sources, clockwise from top left:
Balloons: Ok, so these balloons are actually from a birthday party (a very fabulous birthday party, to be sure) BUT I love the festivity of using balloons as decor at a wedding, especially appropriate for New Year’s Eve weddings! Birthday party featured on Style Me Pretty.
Ballgown: Pinned to Pinterest. This is actually an Indian design but I think the gold details on the dress are totally perfect for deco weddings. The slight blush pink of the dress beneath is unusual and glamorous.
Table Setting: Pinned from happywedd.com! Black and gold makes for a super classy and sumptuous wedding table setting. Love the contrast of the gold menu, satin black napkin, and white and gold plates. Layers of contrast is the way to go for table settings.
Ornate Wallpaper Pattern: Pinned on pinterest! Totally love this cool art deco pattern – it does make one want wallpaper. Use fancy patterns like this to set the tone for your Gatsby inspired affair!
Decorative Straws: These straws from Etsy are so awesome that they’re sold out! I love the trend of decorative straws for weddings, and using a variety of patterns and colors help bring different elements of your wedding palette together.
Geometric Art Deco-inspired Cake: Found on Yummy Cupcakes & Cakes’ (located in Australia) Facebook! This cake is gorgeous and so cool. I love the sleek angles of it – it’s so nice to see an innovative cake that isn’t super feminine and flowered out (although don’t get me wrong, I love that too!).
Invitation Set: Love this gold foil-pressed wedding invitation set from Minted.com! So ornate and showy in classic Art Deco tradition. It’s so important to set the tone of your wedding and be consistent from the planning stages through to the thank you cards, and wedding invitations consistent with your wedding brand are crucial for that (though I may be biased).
Wedding Ring: Found on Style Me Pretty. I love this luxurious gold and black engagement ring box.
